HOME MADE BURGER WITH RICH MUSHROOM SAUCE

In every meal I prepare, I try at least to be on the healthier side, though I find really hard to think of a healthy lunch and dinner, everyday.

Last week, I prepared home made burger patties with rich mushroom sauce. Back then, I was using ready made burger, but I find patties here are too plain. Since I have a lot of time to prepare, I took an extra effort to make this one a little different. This time, I add shredded carrots for patties and you wouldn’t actually notice nor taste the carrots inside it.

Burger Patty
1/2 k ground beef
2 pc eggs
1 whole medium size carrot, shredded
1 whole onion, minced
2 tbsp. garlic, minced
1 tbsp. soy sauce
Salt & pepper

1.  In a bowl – put together ground beef, garlic, onion, salt & pepper. Add in beaten eggs, carrot, and soy sauce. Mix well.  Measure a spoonful of the mixture to form into a patty. I prefer to make a small amount only, so it’s easy to fry and I find it more enticing compared to a bigger patty.

2.  Fry patties, make sure not to overcook (which I almost did). The edge of the patty will end up brittle and might leave crumbs in your sauce.

3.  Rest patties and let the excess oil drain.

Mushroom
1 can mushroom, cut into 3
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. onion, minced
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
salt & pepper

4.  In a small pan, put olive oil, butter, garlic and onion. Sauté over medium heat only.

5.  Once the onion shows transparency, add the mushroom and let it cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.

6.  Drain off some of the oil, and set aside.

Mushroom Sauce
 1 pouch of mushroom soup

 7.  Cook the soup as per instructions.

8.  Bring it into a boil, make sure there’s no trace of powder left in the soup. Add in burger patties and let it simmer for a minute. Lastly, pour in the mushroom and stir very gently avoiding the patties to break up.
